About "épreuve d'artiste"
When artists create their prints, they produce what are known as "artist proofs" (APs). These are additional prints that aren't counted toward the print run. They don't necessarily look exactly like the final print. Artists often make test prints and then decide whether they're satisfied with the result or want to make adjustments. These prints are highly valuable and sought after because they reflect the artist's creative process.
