About Johanna

BeYoona is run by Dutch graphic designer Johanna Baptist. In 2019 she visited Nepal and met felters in Kathmandu. She started making sketches herself to see what they would look like in felt. Johanna fell in love with the material. A few months later, she and the felters began working together. Since then she has been offering the felt goods in her own shop as well as other stores in the Netherlands and in other countries. BeYoona works with FairTrade - the felters receive a fair daily or piece rate wage. Working conditions in Nepal have improved enormously in recent years. BeYoona visits the workshops herself and keeps the production small and personal.
